GEO Readiness Audit

GEO · AI

Enter any page URL and get an instant GEO citation-readiness score. The audit checks 7 signals — structured data, FAQ schema, question headings, answer-first copy, sentence length, lists, and a clear H1 — that make AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews cite your content.

How to use this tool

Enter a live, publicly accessible URL — the audit fetches the page server-side, the same way an AI crawler would, then scores it against seven signals before discarding the fetched content. It can't audit a page behind a login or a staging environment blocked by robots.txt, since that's exactly the access an AI crawler would also be denied.

The score breaks down per signal rather than as a single number, which matters because the fixes are not interchangeable. A page can have excellent FAQ schema and still score poorly overall if its opening paragraph buries the actual answer three sentences deep instead of leading with it — AI systems weigh "answer-first" structure heavily because it's what makes a passage easy to lift and quote directly.

Sentence length is checked separately from structure for a reason: even well-organized content with consistently long, clause-heavy sentences is harder for an extraction model to pull a clean quotable snippet from. Aim for a mix where most sentences land under 25 words, especially in the first paragraph after any heading.

If a page scores low on structured data specifically, the Schema Generator is the direct fix — generate FAQPage or Article JSON-LD for the page and re-run the audit afterward to confirm the score moved. GEO and traditional SEO aren't competing priorities; a page that scores well here typically also has the clear heading structure and concise copy that search engines reward independently.

Frequently asked questions3

QWhat is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO is the practice of optimizing web content to be cited and quoted by AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Claude. It extends traditional SEO by prioritizing structured, quotable content over keyword density.

QWhat signals make content more likely to be cited by AI?

The strongest signals are: FAQPage JSON-LD schema, question-style headings, a direct answer in the first paragraph, short sentences (<25 words), bullet lists or tables, and a single clear H1. This tool checks all of them.

QDoes GEO replace SEO?

No — GEO extends SEO. Pages that rank well in search typically have good GEO signals too. The key difference: GEO prioritizes direct, quotable answers over long-form keyword-optimized prose.
