1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

SlugGenius tools run entirely in your browser. We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use any tool. Any text you type into a tool (titles, URLs, descriptions) is processed locally and is not stored on our servers.

Automatically collected information

When you visit SlugGenius we may automatically collect:

• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring URL
• General geographic location (country/region, derived from IP)

This information is collected in aggregate via Google Analytics and is used solely to improve the site. Individual users are not identified.

2. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following cookies:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — measures traffic and usage patterns. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on.
• Google AdSense (ca-pub-5036666189725763) — serves contextual ads. Google may use cookies to personalize ads based on your browsing history. You can manage ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
• Session cookie (admin only) — an HTTP-only authentication cookie is set only for the site administrator when logged in to the blog dashboard. It is not set for regular visitors.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Vercel (hosting) — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Neon (database, blog posts only) — neon.tech/privacy-policy

The GEO Readiness Audit tool fetches content from URLs you enter. That fetch is made server-side; we do not store the fetched content or the URLs after the request completes.

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Understand how visitors use the site and improve our tools
• Serve contextual advertising to support the free service
• Diagnose and fix technical issues

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing.

5. Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data from tool users, there is nothing to retain or delete. Analytics data is retained by Google according to your GA4 retention settings (default: 14 months).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we do not store personal data, the primary data held about you would be within Google's systems. You can exercise those rights directly with Google or by contacting us below.

7. Children's Privacy

SlugGenius is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
